Baby Steps

After finishing up on my hand drawn character walk animation i decided i wanted to move more toward robotic characters and the way they could possibly transform, i first started with a lot of hand drawn ideas of what i could possibly look like and also doing some research into things like transformers but then again i knew i didn't want to go that detailed and wouldn't be able to achieve that anyway with my curent knowledge in the industry and with the software. I say software because i do eventually want to make this character in 3D using cinema 4d but i have know history or knowledge of this program.

But here are some of the drawing that i have done for the initial idea.

I will say this just for the record there were intended to be very rough and have the smallest amount of detail and basically just rough out the simplest idea for how something could look and also transform.

Another thing that i would like to point out is that the choices i made with the shapes and the overal designs of my character were heavily influenced and also hindered by the story and original idea that i had for this animation and that was to have a xbox transform and move around a room, but after designing that character and then moving on with other processes i realised i would have to change my overall idea of start thing about actual components in a xbox and how to make real moving parts from them that would make sense in a robot and i wasn't about to dismantle my xbox.
